We are the specialist employment law division of Manak Solicitors.
This division handles exclusively employment law. This, together with our HR management expertise, means we can offer a complete service to employers. Our practice is drawn mainly from London, Kent and the South East, with some clients coming from further afield. Most clients are acquired through personal recommendation.
Our Canterbury office is housed in the prestigious Canterbury innovation Centre at the University Of Kent.
The office is predominantly aimed at servicing the East Kent clients of Manak in the Commercial Employment and Immigration sectors of the firm.
Employment Relations, the employment law arm of Manak was founded in 2001 by Tony Bertin in the Kent countryside just outside of the historic cathedral city of Canterbury before merging with Manak in 2014 and has a significant following in the East Kent region.
This now extends the Manak client service from Central London across Kent.
We have developed a significant niche advising solicitors in many of the magic circle law firms and other professionals in banking, accountancy and Financial Services.
The practice started in Elham, a small Kent village near Canterbury by Tony Bertin and Penny Hays, a HR specialist, and has been involved in many well known cases, including two leading whistleblowing cases (Cavendish Munro Professional Risks Management Ltd v Geduld & Topliss v NCP Services Ltd,2010) as well as many cases attracting press and TV coverage.
